From 31st May new legislation will come into effect allowing Long Semi-Trailers (LSTs) on UK roads. Measuring up to 2.05 metres longer than a standard trailer, the long trailers are part of government efforts to grow
the economy and reduce emissions – with the legislation changes estimated to save 70,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over the next 11 years. This is mitigated by the use of a steering axle to ensure compliant turning circles are maintained for regulatory purposes.
